Some Pictures

Ian started crawling a couple weeks ago; more like scooting around on his belly. He crawls on his knees more, but he resorts to the army crawl when he wants to go fast. He’s been massively cranky with teeth coming in on all four sides.

And Allison has been enjoying pushing my buttons. Today alone she smeared her mouth all over the front window- timeout- then took a crayon and wrote a big, long “note” on the back of her door- another timeout- all within the space of 10 minutes. And yesterday, she spent “quiet time” trashing her room.

Allison decided a couple weeks ago to be Minnie Mouse so Ian was Mickey Mouse. I modified a Simplicity pattern, view F, to have a fuller skirt and added a sash. I made Ian a pair of pants from another Simplicity pattern. They turned out really cute so I’m going to make a couple more pairs for church and general wear this winter.

I didn’t get a good picture of the dress yet. I’m going to try and get a couple pictures outside this week while the weather is still nice.

Allison love trick or treating. She went to a few houses around the neighborhood then we went to a friend’s house for a party.

Some catching up to do

We had a busy October and I can’t believe it’s already November. We went to Disneyland a couple weeks ago and had a great time. Even though it was 5 days, looking back it feels like it flew by.We saw Mickey Mouse and rode Small World waaaay too many times. Allison loved it.

Even Ian went on a couple of rides. He spent most of the time in the stroller and the moby wrap but he was good.

Like Father Like Son

Daddy cut his hair short the other day and now he and Ian look like twins 🙂

Bean has an unorthodox way of using the pacifier. I gave it to him to chew on since he’s teething his top teeth and he prefers to chew on it sideways. Such a silly boy. He’ll be six months tomorrow. The time has flown with the second one.

Ian love, love, loves the doorway bouncer. He could spend hours in it if we let him. When he’s not in it, he makes me bounce him up and down. Tiring, but a great arm workout.
I’m impatiently waiting for my serger to come back from the repair shop. I hope it can be fixed without too much cost. I have so many projects that I could use it for. I also have some quilt stuff to do. I signed up for a quilt-along at a local store as well as the free quilting classes they offer. So hopefully, at the end of a year, I’ll have a whole quilt top done.

Busy Day

Today we went to our Stake Pioneer Day picnic at the park. It was fun, but not well organized (as usual for our Stake). Allison was sort of a grump most of the day. Then we went swimming with our friends. It was baby central- 4 little ones and two preschoolers. I was able to get baby Halen’s name letters done yesterday. I think they turned out super cute. I’m so horrible at figuring out fabrics that match or go together. I think that’s my main block against quiliting.
An impromptu photoshoot in the backyard yielded these photos:
